Description: Jean Covens & Cornielle Mortier edition of Guillaume de L'Isles titled "Carte De La Louisiane et du Cours du Mississipi Dressee sur un grand nombre de Memoirs entr' autres sur ceux de Mr. Le Maire". This is the most significant map of the Mississippi Valley and Great Lakes published during the beginning of the 18th century. Overall in nice condition. Appears to have been laid down, most likely on acid-free board. Almost impossible for us to tell without tearing all of the matting apart. This is a very clean example with old color. Mat measures 24" x 30 1/4"Window opening measures 18" x 24 1/2"
