The 50th Anniversary guitar Chevrolet Motor Division commissioned the Gibson Custom Shop to build 50 (fifty)…. Yes, only 50 of the Corvette 50th Anniversary Les Paul model guitar of the anniversary red series. GM priced the guitars at $5,000 each! This pin that is up for this auction is an absolute correct replica of the original Les Paul Guitar. I cannot stress enough that these pins are exact replicas (look at the strings and knobs) of those prestigious original guitars. The “Real” Guitar, like the Lapel Pin made their debut at the Nashville Celebration. The Pins were only available to individuals who donated monies towards designated charities at a special venue during the event. This is another one of those “best kept secrets” from the Corvette 50th Anniversary celebration in Nashville. Pin is sealed in an original unopened bag (pictures are of my own personal pin), stored in a non-smoking, pet free home. Corvette 50th factoid #5: On Saturday Night, at the Nashville Celebration ZZ Topp Concert, one of those 50th Les Paul Guitars was presented to Billy Gibbons… He played it there! Fantastic!
