Description: The Congo Democratic Republic 500 Francs banknote was released by the Central Bank of Congo in 2002. This blue banknote features a man with a pickax and two men with pans, searching for diamonds in a stream. To the center is the bank monogram logo while on the right are three diamonds. The reverse of the paper bill depicts a diamond mining valley and a building with trees and a river in the background. The banknote is equipped with a 5-pointed star in a diamond as its registration device, a watermark that reflects an okapi’s head, and a solid security thread with a demetallized RED DEM DU CONGO. The banknote is 150 x 70 mm in size and bears the signature of Jean-Claude Masangu Mulongo. This note is in uncirculated condition. The note was printed by Hôtel des Monnaies, B.C.C. barely visible at lower right on back.
