COMPLETE Walt Disney Black Diamond VHS Movie Collection w/ Official Retail Rack

Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This is my personal collection that I began building over 35 years ago as part of my Disney memorabilia collection. Many of the movies were near impossible to collect at the time due to Disney's limited release moratorium policy on many of the classics; Disney would release one of their classics in movie theaters and for video sales/rentals for a "limited time only" - then Disney would halt sales and showings and the return to Disney all the official promotional items. There were narrow windows of opportunities to purchase many of the videos - especially the VHS rack. I was able to purchase the official Disney retail display rack from a video rental store many years ago that was going out of business. Disney had a very strict policy with no exceptions that all official Disney display and promotional items be returned to Disney after use so items like this are nearly impossible to find, especially vintage and in this good condition. The video store I originally purchased the rack from was going out of business and didn't care about Disney's 100% return policy - he chose the money and sold it to me. So not just the movies themselves but the official Disney retail display rack are almost impossible to find after all these years, especially in the complete condition these items are and including a COMPLETE set of the "original" classics as released/sold at the time. Many of the movies have only been viewed once or twice and taken very good care of all these years. I see some of these movies going for huge prices individually due to the hard to obtain nature of many of them (see pre-altering/editing versions Warning above). You can compare on Ebay based on the prices of individual movies the cost of building a collection like this - plus the official Disney rack. Due to "societal" changes over the years many of the scenes, content and video covers were deemed too sensitive or often "offensive" for some audiences - so Disney permanently altered or removed the content - so this collection includes many videos that Disney hasn't or ever will sell/rent to the public again. Disney's moratoriums and edits are permanent to this day regarding newer versions (post alteration) so only vintage items purchased at the time of their availability contain the original content meant for audiences at the time. The video rack and collection has been a beautiful and unique conversation and show piece all these years in my home as part of my Disney collection, but this rack and videos have garnered the most interest among visitors. They are an eye catching, nostalgic and impressive display piece for any serious Disney memorabilia collector. Several of the movies are “Disney Gold Classic Collection”. The rack also has empty shelf space to add to this movie collection if you want. Many of the videos still have the original included paper inserts and the “Walt Disney Home Movie” sticker tab on the case. And some even have the original purchase receipts. The paper video cover inserts are all in excellent condition. Several still have the original promo paper inserts they included in the videos when new. The Video Rack is made of hard plastic and metal and has 6 adjustable shelves that can be used on both sides of the display. The rack is on wheels for easy moving. The dimensions are 66 inches tall, 24 inches wide and 18 inches deep. The unit can be partially disassembled for easier transport.
