Description: Antique COLUMBIAN Stationary Bench Vise No. 3 - 3" Jaws - Made in USA Pre-1920 era Columbian Hardware bench vise, model No. 3, predecessor to the No. 143. I'd estimate age to between 1901 and 1917 based on available information. Vise weighs in at 11.4#, 10 3/4" length in closed position and 5" height at jaws . The jaws are 3" wide and the vise opens ~3 1/4" with dynamic front jaw flush with rear of back jaw/base. Early style marking - "THE COL. HDW. CO. CLEVELAND OH U.S.A.", noting "THE" included as the earliest version. Jaw faces appear to be original with smooth faces in reasonable condition on serrations and screw heads visible. Vise has been inspected closely and is in overall good condition. The vise has been cleaned enough to assess condition - identify marks, front jaw beam, etc. The vise appears to have the base repaired many years ago with weld material on both sides. Neat work with minor intrusion into markings. Original handle is straight. No functional problems and no lube has been applied to sliding parts. Please see all pictures for full condition details. Vise will be carefully packed and shipped safely to buyer's location. I've successfully shipped over 30 large vises over the years and take great care to get them to destination without issues and zero damage. Thank you for visiting and don't wait too long on this antique Columbian vise!
