Description: Antique Masonic Ceremonial Sword with Patriarchal Cross. The Patriarchal Cross is used today by Grand Encampment officers below the rank of Grand Masters, as well as for the Department Commanders. The blade is engraved with "A&A Schnitzler Solingen" a German sword maker in business 1864-1873, producing American Civil War cavalry sabers. The handle is very dark wood (perhaps ebony?) with bronze pummel of knights head with plumed helmet, bronze cross-guard and scabbard. Blade is silver etched with intricate designs. Due to the age of the piece, there are some pitted spots on blade - see images for detail. Blade has indistinguishable name etched (Thomas Silver?) Blade is straight and easily slips in and out of scabbard that is engraved with Templar cross, equilateral triangle with the eye of God and a Rosicrucian Cross of the Rose Croix. Measures 37". Great piece for rituals or the collector. Reach out if you need more detailed photos.
