Description: CHROME Disc Drum Prop Valve Bracket Kit + 3/8" 9/16" 1/2" Lines & Bleeder Tool CHROME Disc Drum Prop Valve Bracket Kit + 3/8" 9/16" 1/2" Lines & Bleeder Tool Click images to enlarge Description This is a brand new CHROME proportioning valve with Side Bracket Mounting Kit and a Valve Bleeder Tool, with 3/8" Port Stainless Steel Lines plus BONUS 9/16" and 1/2" Lines. This kit includes two sets of hard lines so you will be able to mount this to most types of master cylinders. The first set is for street rod type master cylinders with the smaller 3/8" x 3/8" ports. The second bonus set is for the later model muscle car type masters that have 9/16" x 1/2". Using these lines you should be able to adapt this valve to most types of master cylinders, but we recommend double checking yours just to be sure. Please note that on some applications, it is not uncommon for the lines to need bent for proper fitment. This combination proportioning valve is for Disc/Drum applications. This valve performs all the necessary functions when using disc brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear including the following Proportioning: As more force is applied to the brakes and the car begins to lean forward, less braking force is needed in the rear. This valve decreases the pressure to the rear, preventing lock up. Metering: Metering is used in the front disk brake portion in the disc/drum system to delay application of the front discs allowing the slower reacting drum brakes to catch up. This provides rear stability on wet surfaces and helps prevent front pad wear. There is no metering function with the disc/disc setup. Residual Pressure: Drum Brakes require residual pressure of 10 lbs. to be held in the line. This pressure keeps the brake shoes close to the drums giving you a more firm pedal feel. The disc/disc setup does not require this pressure. System Failure Switch: This valve has a system failure switch that will alert you when half of your braking system is not working properly. This valve is a great upgrade over the original and is a must when upgrading from drum to disc brakes. This is a universal GM valve, and will work on almost any Chevy, Buick, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Pontiac, or GM Trucks with a GM style Master Cylinder. This kit also includes the Side Bracket Mounting Kit, which allows you to mount this to the Left (Driver's Side) of any aftermarket or Stock Booster including 7" 8" 9" 10" and 11" sizes. The two hard lines that connect the master cylinder (with 1/2" & 9/16" ports) to the proportioning valve are also included. The Valve Bleed Tool is designed to replace the warning light switch (white plug) on the proportioning valve during the brake bleeding process. After the bleeding process is finished, simply remove this PvBT Tool and reinstall the warning light switch. This item makes bleeding your brake system much easier. This tool is designed to lock the low pressure shut valve to allow fast and easy brake system bleeding. There's no need to constantly remove the low pressure switch and center the low pressure valve during the brake bleeding process!
