Description: CHINESE FU LU SHOU FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN STATUES LOT 3 IMMORTAL GODS THREE WISE MEN18" VTG Up for your consideration is this Incredible LOT OF 3 Vintage Chinese Three Wise Men Fu, Lu, and Shou Porcelain Statues. These amazing and large statues are made of porcelain with bright and colorful hand painted outfits which feature the detailed famille rose design on the back of their traditional attire. They are known as the Immortal Star Gods and stand for the highest priorities in Chinese life: fortune, prosperity, and longevity. Fu Xing is the Star God symbolizing blessings and happiness as a result of good fortune. He holds a scroll and a young boy in his hands. At his feet is a young girl holding a basket of gold and flowers. There is a beautiful pink rose on top of his head and a long black beard hangs down to his waist area. Lu Xing is the god of prosperity, symbolizing career success. Lu adorns a mighty head dress with lots of gold leaf accents and holds the Ru Yi which is the scepter of power and authority. He is the tallest of the three. Finally, Shou is the star god of longevity. You can pick him out by his prominent forehead and long white beard. He holds a very long dragon staff with gold leaf eyes and attached gourd that holds the elixir of life. He also carries the peach which is a symbol of immortality and a stork / crane bird stands near his feet. Obviously there are some minor flaws from the hand painting technique used but there are absolutely no cracks or chips in the porcelain. There is a hole in both sides of Lu's head dress that may have had something going through it but that is missing. Aside from that these are in exceptional vintage condition and display beautifully.
