Description: Charming early 18th century c.1730 Etui/Scent Bottle This charming early 18th century étui or vinaigrette once contained spices or a scented sponge. There is still a faint smell from years of carrying perfume. It is made to imitate gold and is likely a mixed alloy of copper, zinc, and tin. The finely crafted chased and repousse work make this a beautiful piece to wear around the neck from a chain. Motifs include a heart, interlacing ribbons and a flower. The hinge lid closed tightly and the suspension ring is sturdy. 34mm total length. 28mm × 20mm, 14mm deep, 5.5 grams. For a similar piece, see the two étuis attached to an early 18th Chatelaine now at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. PLEASE MESAGE ME BEFORE BUYING THANK YOU
