Foam dimensions: If you’re familiar with refoaming Cerwins, you’ve undoubtedly seen where the ID of the foam is just slightly too large or too small. Cerwin used MANY different foams on their woofers, and they varied by model, year, plant, etc. They also varied within the same woofer model on some. No one makes exact to original dimension replacement foams. Even if you wanted to try, there were so many slight variations, it would be next to impossible. So everyone makes "close enough to use on them all", and same with me. The most important dimension is the ID, and on these foams, the ID is 5 7/16. Some other peoples' foams are a little smaller, some bigger. These foams are not the same as anyone else sells. They are top quality, red over gray, and .028 thick. This is thicker than the cheap China foams, but a little thinner that some out there, which are too thick. Too thick and you lose sensitivity, especially at the upper frequencies. And of course, color. Cerwin used red over gray on many models, and these are red over gray. Not paper thin like the red ones they sell from China. Not pink over gray like many sellers have. But correct thickness, RED, over gray. Glue: This kit includes a tube of the BCA3035 clear solvent glue that is a favorite. But if you prefer, just message me and I'll switch the glue to my white "tacky" glue. This is not elmers despite looking like it. It gives a great bond to the paper cones, foams, and aluminum frames. Many people who do this type of work, swear by this "tacky" glue. Includes tips and tricks learned from decades of doing this myself. This kit includes two foams, and fit almost every Cerwin Vega 8" woofer made. The exceptions are the CLSC and XLS woofers. While these would work on them, those woofers are slightly different. You can save twelve bucks, and look at pink foams for the next 20 years, or spend the extra $12 and get the very best. If you want quantity, don’t need glue, etc, reach out.
