Description: Case XX Copperhead Knife 1999 MOBY DICK SCRIMSHAW SCENE #042 3 7/8" closed, featuring the scrimshawed scene from the Herman Melville classic novel, Moby Dick. The Case SFO Moby Dick Copperhead was manufactured exclusively for a Case retailer in a very low quantity in 1999. This Case Copperhead features Case's Smooth Natural Bone (cattle bone) handles, Case's Chrome Vanadium (carbon steel) blades, and is serial numbered on the front side pocket end bolster with #42. This Case Moby Dick Copperhead is stamped on the front tang of the master Clip blade with Case XX USA and 1 Dot, dating this as a 1999 issue Case knife, while the rear tang of the small Spear blade is pattern stamped with USA 6249 CV. Both blades have half stops and snap. Nickle bolsters, brass liners. This is not NOS or in mint condition, there are carbon spots on the blade as see in the photos.No chips or cracks in the handles. Never sharpened, stil maintains it's factory edge. This knife has been oiled.Includes a generic Case XX box. We understand this isn’t just a knife but a collector’s item.
