Pairpoint plate number 436 features a wooden carousel carving of an armored horse. The Heritage Museums and Gardens has a 1908 Looff Carousel, and an assortment of hand carved figures by famous names. The pressing for the plate began in 1986 (date is on the plate). This would make a wonderful gift for one of the many volunteers that donated their time to this beautiful garden on Cape Cod. Handcrafted on Cape Cod using time-honored techniques, these 3.5 inch cup plates have subtle variations that highlight the artisan's skill. Each cup plate is crafted using a mold created with a hammer and chisel, and then pressed with molten glass using an antique press. This manufacturing process results in cup plates that are similar yet possess their own distinctive characteristics. Look closely and you'll find the artisan's initials and the Pairpoint trademark within the design.
