The incredible part is that a 9T cog paired with a 42T chainring offers almost the same top end gear as a 11T cog paired with a massive 52T chainring. That means you’ll get the same top end gearing as a 2x drivetrain but with the same easy gear as a traditional 1x11 gravel groupset. The 9-36T combo offers very small gearing steps and has a closer range of gears for less intense terrain, the 9-42T combo is a great middle ground option if you need a big top gear and a big easy gear for steep climbs, and the 10-44T combo is the ideal cassette if you need as big of an easy gear as possible.
