The epic silent film opened on 06/01/1914 at the Knickerbocker Theatre, a legit theatre at Broadway and 38th Street, just 2 days following the closing of the musical, THE CRINOLINE GIRL and was accompanied by a large chorus and orchestra. Cabiria was the first film to be shown on the south lawn of the White House on 06/26/1914 for President Woodrow Wilson, Vice President Thomas R. Marshall and the cabinet members and their wives.
