Description: here is a nice early and rare small double sided flyer for the "MT. WASHINGTON RAILWAY" & "THE MOUNT WASHINGTON CLUB". One side of Flyer has the Title "CLIMB TO THE CLOUDS ON THE MT. WASHINGTON RAILWAY" with advertisement for the "COG ROAD" Complete with Train Schedules with the bottom bearing "MOUNT WASHINGTON RAILWAY, HENRY N. TEAGUE, PRESIDENT". The opposite side has the title "MOUNT WASHINGTON CLUB" Complete with advertisements for the Old "TIP TOP HOUSE" and "SUMMIT HOUSE" which both burned down in 1908. The bottom of this side has "MOUNT WASHINGTON CLUB, MYRON E. WITHAM, PRESIDENT". inked on old heavy brown cardboard like paper, this rare double sided Mt. Washington Railway Timetable / Mount Washington Club Advertisement measures 6" x 3 1/2". it has some minor handling wear including a small crease at one bottom corner and some light dings to corners. I have had a hard time pinpointing the exact date of this item. It is between 1910-and possibly as late as 1935 but considering both the TIP TOP HOUSE and the SUMMIT HOUSE both burned down in 1908 I believe this item is closer to 1930's. This Cog Schedule claims "63 years running without a passenger accident? I know the President of the MT. WASHINGTON CLUB, Mr. Myron E. Witham was a very famous College Football and Baseball coach from around 1903-1932 for Purdue University and the University of Colorado Buffalos. I could find no other information about when exactly he was PRESIDENT of The Mount Washington Club? a nice old Historical Collectible. please view all pics and read full item condition. I ship within 24hrs of cleared payment.
