Collated, complete.Illustrated and written by Chloe Preston (1887-1969), a children's author and artist of books and postcards. She is best known for her cute, cherubic children in adult situations. The majority of Preston's works were published between 1910 and 1934, at which point she received a substantial inheritance and retired from public life.With the inscription of Madeline Elizabeth Bagnall, August 1928, to the front pastedown.Undated; dated c1915-1920.A delightful early twentieth century children's work. CONDITION In the publisher's original cloth backed pictorial paper covered boards. Fading to back strip, with bumping to spine head and tail. Boards bright, with small losses and light rubbing to board perimeters. Inscription to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with handling marks throughout, and the odd instance of spotting.
