This is an American piece, dating to around the 1910s, made by renowned jewelry company Krementz. The pin is done in a lovely filigree openwork design, set with five round-cut sapphires, graduated in size from smaller at the ends to the largest in the center. The pin is 14 karat yellow gold, with a platinum top, so the sapphires really pop. We have had our gemologist inspect the sapphires and found evidence of iron bands, indicating natural sapphire growth, so these are real, mined-from-the-ground stones, not synthetic. The pin is beautifully hand engraved, with a milgrain finish. The pin has an old lever catch style safety clasp. This piece is in great condition. The diamond is securely set. The clasp functions well and closes securely. There are no breaks and no repairs. The pin is stamped and guaranteed 14k on the clasp, as well as the Krementz maker's mark.
