Description: Maker: This beautiful cabinet plate is by Germany's iconic Rosenthal factory, which has produced fabulous porcelain wares since 1879. Marks and age: It has the green RC crown mark with the word Copenhagen that Rosenthal used from 1891 to 1906. A red "JCL Harms Hamburg" retailer's mark also appears. The firm of Johann Carl Ludwig Harms was in business between 1879 to around 1914. So this plate was produced between 1891 and 1906, making it at least 117 years old and perhaps older. Design: The fine porcelain plate in a subtle shade of blue-grey features a swimming fish and white water lilies. Size: It's 9 inches wide and weighs 12.4 ounces. Condition: It has no marks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration or repairs. There is light wear to the gold edge; it's visible in the photos. There are 8 tiny nicks on the edge; they're not obvious and do not detract from the plate's impact when on display. Some of them can be felt more than seen. They're shown in the photos with the penny and red arrows. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
