Description: Antique January 5, c.1884 The Elzevir Library Volume 5, No. 185 softcover pocketbook publication. This one is titled "Erasmus and Luther" and contains the written transcription of three lectures given at Newcastle in 1867 by James Anthony Froude. It was published in New York by John B. Alden. This is a incredibly unique piece of history that would make a great addition to all sorts of collections or someone interested in this topic. Cover has large tearing, staining and creasing. There is a faint name written near the top. Front cover has to be handled delicately. The outside cover area of spine is torn in places as well. Spine of book is holding up well despite cover flaws. All pages feel well bound together. You can see the string used to bind the pages on last interior page. Back cover page has torn off of binding. Interior pages have discoloration and staining from age. There is also creasing and bending at the corners. All pages are clear and legible without any external markings. See photos for more detail. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your interest!
