This collection includes a total of thirty-two poems, leading with the long poem 'Christ's Company'. Though some poems do have religious tones, they are not all strictly religious, of picturesque imagination.Dixon's poetry was well received, so much so he was briefly considered for Poet Laureate when Tennyson died in 1892. The occasional pencil note to the text, being corrections from the original errata slip. CONDITION In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped glassine. Externally, smart. Very minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Only a few light marks to the boards. Spots to the endpapers. Glassine wrap is a little edge worn with small chips and closed tears. Ink to the rear flyleaf. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
