Description: This is an undated Houghton Mifflin copy, printed in Great Britain, of The Fellowship of the Ring. It was purchased in Paris in 1956, along with two British (George Allen & Unwin) first editions (which I also have listed currently as of June 7, 2024). I would have sold the three books together, but since they're all slightly different editions, I decided to go separately with the listings. I am open to making a deal for the three if someone is interested in keeping them together. I believe this to be the first US. edition, but a later printing. The covers are worn and there are tears at the head and foot of the spine and stains on the covers. Hinges cracked and some separation at front hinge with webbing showing at title page. The front cover and pages leading up to the title page are loose but all still holding together. Ink signature of original owner on flyleaf with purchasing date/info; stains on outside page edges that do affect the inside a little (please see photos). Ink notation on final endpaper. Map is in good shape but has small tear where it unfolds from the book. Spine leans a little to the right when book is placed flat. kevindaleybooks Note: I try to identify any flaws in books as much as possible.
