Description: Circa 1815 John Rose COALPORT Porcelain English Regency IMARI Tea Cup For your consideration is a spectacular porcelain cupThin, light, vey fine porcelain in the so-called "London" shapeThe blue color was applied under the glaze, then the red and orange Imari pattern was painted in enamels on top of the glaze, after which the cup was lavishly gilded. The pattern is inspired by the Japanese style, with colorful exotic flowers set in three panels and foliage between the panels, applied in gilt on top of the blue groundThe cup has not only a stunning inside decoration, but also a very nice decoration on the outside, definitely being a part of a quite expensive tea serviceUnmarked, which was usual for the factory back then, the pattern apparently being 375Circa 1815, Coalport, Staffordshire EnglandAll original Measurements: Approximately 4.25" across with the handle x 3.5" top diameter x 2.25" high It weighs about 4 oz.
