There is no industrial standard. 8 PLASTIC BUMPER attached with (2) allen screws, is specifically designed to help prevent the magazine from slipping through the shooter's fingers and provides a comfortable and sure-grip when speed loading. The BUMPER Pad size is 1-5/8" long 3/4" wide and 5/16" high. The HOLES are 11/16" apart. NOTE. If your gun has a magwell your magazine will not seat without modifying the bumper. INSTALLATION: of Bumper PadFor installation instruction go to : www.45acp1911.comDrilling the holes and then tapping them with a #8-32 tap for two threaded holes in the magazine floor plate.A 1/8 size drill is not perfect, however it is close to be used! You should use a Jig to hold the magazine, however a vice with wood support on all side may work for you to hold your magazine. See sample picture.. A nail can be used as a center punch that fits perfect in the template Bumper hole. Grind the nail to a very short point and then use as a center punch.
