Description: Designed by renowned Japanese artist Isamu Kenmochi - a preeminent figure in the field of post WWII Japanese industrial design - and produced by Maru Trend Pacific, Inc., this chrome and burnt orange plastic ashtray beautifully merges Japanese and Scandinavian modernism. Made in Japan at some point in the 1960s, details on Maru Trend Pacific, Inc. and any potential ties to LA are scant. What's not in short supply is the timelessly cool style of this 6" in diameter chrome bound ashtray. With a deep 2" burnt orange basin, this emblem of mid century design bares in relief "Maru Trend Pacific, Inc Los Angeles, Calif" and "Design Isamu Kenmochi" along with "Japan" on its bottom. In great shape despite its sixty years and never used as an actual ashtray, there's a bit of patina here and there on the chrome (please see pics) of this nearly 1 lb piece. ***Hello Shopper With Discerning Taste!*** Thanks so much for checking out BricABracBrigade!
