Description: So what conditions have you got at Burning Man; sun that glares and heat that rises. Sooooo, old slicky here erected the remedy for these issues, the "Smart" helmet, protection for the head from the sun, sun glasses, and a vent for rising heat. I did this by using a large light weight fiberglass workers helmet. I installed welder's goggles, but removed all but the single shaded glass, so that user is not looking through multiple layers of glass. I added a top vent (off of 1933 Ford horn) to allow rising hot air to escape. I did have to shave portions of the helmet brim to allow the goggles to cycle (raise and lower without being obstructed by the brim). The goggle design is such that the spring loaded goggles can pull forward past the front brim of the helmet for raising and lowering. The internal head band is infinitely adjustable for any head size/diameter (see last 3 photos above).
