Description: Buckskin Leather Rifle or Shotgun Case/Sheath with Fringe. I bought this from a leather maker and he said it was made for a Hawken Muzzle Loading Rifle but it appears it never had a rifle in it. Its length is 47” with the cover flap closed and has a 5” opening. The outside end is 3”. Please check the pictures for a better idea of its dimensions. And as you probably know leather stretches and shrinks after use. It has a flap closure which is held closed with an Elk horn button. The leather is supple and there are no holes, rips or tears. It has storage ware but look over the pictures carefully because leather has its own personality.
