BSA Motorcycle Petrol Tank Piled Arms Badge Plastic Original 1958-59 *READ DESC*

Description: (The Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited) BSA - MOTORCYCLE/Motorbike FUEL/PETROL TANK Round 1958/1959 ‘Piled Arms’ Logo BADGE/Emblem/Insignia - Used Vintage & ORIGINAL - TRACKED POSTAGE. *PLEASE STUDY ALL PHOTOGRAPHS CAREFULLY AS THEY FORM PART OF THE DESCRIPTION* This is in a VERY GOOD overall condition given its age. I believe this badge with the three crossed rifles (known as a ‘piled arms’ badge) is from 1958 or 1959 **READ MORE BELOW** The back still has the original fastening, held on by the two screws (these are pretty rusted as shown). It’s made from a kind of plastic like material with the main part of the logo and lettering in silver with the three ‘crossed rifles’ on a black background. The outer colour of the badge is an amber colour. It does have a little chip out of the bottom edge below the ‘A’ in ‘BSA’ as shown in the pictures. I think if it was attached back onto a bike or mounted on to something it would be harder to notice the chip out of it. The badge is 8.5 cm in diameter. From a smoke free home. The badge has been recently carefully cleaned and the front does have some scratches on, mainly in the middle area through the ‘S’ in BSA. Maybe these could be made to look better with restoration. **(INFORMATION I HAVE BEEN PROVIDED) This style of petrol tank badge was new for 1954, replacing previous styles of badge on the A group twins, the B and C group singles and the M group sidecar haulers. This new 3 & 3/4 ‘piled arms’ badge was designed to simplify production as it fits both sides of the petrol tank and all models except the Bantam. I believe this particular colour and style example is from a 1958 or 1959 model.
