Description: If you like premium jewelry that you just won't find anywhere else, you've come to the right shop. Please read the entire description before you order, thank you. (I will be re-doing this entire listing with better photos and more details soon. But for now, I am discounting the price a little. All of my customers have been absolutely happy with these rings, though I only sell a couple a year on average. Shipwreck treasure you can wear on your finger! And not even the chinese shopping sites have made knockoffs of this coin ring yet. That said, I only sell coin rings made from real coins that I made myself.) The rings in this listing are made from genuine 1808 10 Cash British East India Company (EIC) coins, most notably associated with the Admiral Gardner shipwreck, though I can't say with any certainty if the particular coin your ring will be made from came from that shipwreck or not. I will not use coins that are heavily corroded or damaged. These coins are already scarcely found in sufficient quality to be used for rings. There aren't very many people who have mastered the skills necessary to take such a thin and small coin and turn it into a very nice, light, comfortable ring. I also use a custom wet-polishing process that gently burnishes the ring, which, a couple hundred years of patina goes a long ways even after polishing, so you will see some remaining patina giving the ring a distinctive look you just won't find in other copper coin rings. And, yes, if you do not want to wear bare copper for any reason, a clear-coat is available, which on this particular ring I have given to a friend for them to test, and the clearcoating has held up to everything they could throw at it from cooking to cleaning and working outside. That said, I do recommend avoiding harsh chemicals and abrasives when possible, just to make sure the integrity of the coating is preserved for a long time to come. The clearcoat is included free of charge, but if you want to wear bare copper for the various benefits people enjoy from copper, please include a note with your order that you do not wish to have the clearcoat. These coins are very thin, I forget the exact measurement but its between 1 and 2 mm. Copper, like silver, hardens with age. And working metals hardens them even more, which means lots of careful annealing to prevent breaking the coin. And these coins are only about the diameter of a US Quarter. These coins have also skyrocketed in scarcity and price, I don't know why they are being hoarded all of a sudden, so, I have had to raise prices to reflect the new costs of manufacturing these specialty rings. But I do not anticipate any further increases in pricing unless something crazy happens like the US becoming the Weimar Republic v 2.0 or something. I do regret the increase in price, but I've had no choice. My overhead just to sell and supply all the things that it takes to make one ring ready to ship, is about 40% of my price, and the rest, well, it can take several hours to make sure one of these turns out the way I need it to in order to maximize the quality and appearance without ruining a not quite irreplaceable coin in the process. If I break just two of these because I worked too fast, there goes all of the profit that covers my labor going into this item. Regardless, if I have an order to fill, even if I have really bad luck and manage to have to fill the order at a loss, I will do so... No one's ever had their order cancelled because I've had a bad day making jewelry, which, its rare I have a bad day, but they are super bad days when I call them a bad day. This is such a small niche market, the average person does not even know this coin exists, nor that the British East India Company was one of the most powerful and largest corporations in the world, and, adjusting for inflation and other variables, still might rank in the top of the list even compared to todays corporations. However, people love shipwrecks, and the Admiral Gardner is as talked about as any except maybe the Atocha. Shipwreck coin rings aren't exactly a common item, since a lot of shipwreck treasure is in the form of cobs, and only milled, round coinage is suitable for making a nice even traditional looking band. Not saying a cob couldn't be turned into a ring, just, thats a whole other process for me to worry about learning. These are fairly narrow bands coming in at about 3/8ths of an inch in width, and due to the size of the coin and the difficulty in working into a much larger size, I really don't want to go beyond size 8. But if you need a different size than is offered in the varieties listed, please place your order in the finish you wish, and include a note with the EXACT size you need in any fraction of a US size that is within the size 4 to size 8 range. If you need a ring larger than size 8, I am working on a 20 cash variety of ring, which being the size of a half dollar, is sufficient for taking up into the larger sizes, probably from between size 8 to 14 at least, maybe even higher. These are made entirely by me, with hand tools, using only genuine coins, in the United States, with tools that were also made in the US. No Chinese are ever involved with any part of my production process unlike some of my competition! ONLY premium handmade jewelry here! This makes a great gift idea or a statement piece, for anyone who loves history, or perhaps just likes the thought of wearing a piece of what truly was perhaps the largest most powerful trading company in Earth's history. The price reflects the cost of materials, and the time and care it takes to actually create a ring with these coins successfully. Failures are expensive, and there is no rushing an order of this caliber. It simply must be worked on until it is completed, which, is what I do. If you want more "affordable" copper coin rings, I do offer various others, and I am working to expand my inventory and re-do existing listings. So, please check back from time to time! I am happy to ship outside of the US, but it isn't so cheap these days. My prices are already well below what I should be asking for an item such as this, so that more than should offset even the international shipping costs. Please note that eBay's inventory system for "varieties" is confusing. I make each ring as the order comes in, as opposed to trying to stock one of every variety, which would be insane to try to do. There may be sizes that simply are never needed so it doesn't make sense to make one of every type ahead of time. So, I will try to keep this description updated with the actual number that are in stock currently MAX NUMBER CURRENTLY AVAILABLE = 2(Updated as soon as any quantities are ordered by anyone for this item.) Orders greater than the quantity available may be cancelled or subjected to limited fulfillment with a pro-rated partial refund for the unshippable quantity of your order. This is because I can't give a total number of this item in stock since each variety (size) has its own quantity field and if I set them all to 0 it means non are available instead of saying X number of any size are available. I may or may not require signature confirmation. It just depends if I am shipping to a place that is high risk for porch piracy etc. If you absolutely need signature, or if you absolutely cannot bear the inconvenience of having to sign for a package, let me know when you order so I can select the appropriate options which are most useful when shipping.
