This map is taken from Lewis Evan's "A General map of the Middle British Colonies in America…" published in 1755. This impression is Laurie & Whittle's re-issue of the Sayer & Bennet's plate of 1776. In Henry Stevens reference book on Lewis Evans he states that the only difference between the earlier Sayer & Bennett map and this one is the removal of the headline title "The Seat of War" and the addition of a dotted line throughout the lakes to show the boundary of Canada and the United States.
