Often referred to as "needle nose" for its narrow front hood, it became popular with truckers thanks to its easy engine access under butterfly doors. Externally, the 281 is similar to the 351. Both model 281 and 351 tractors were mad famous for their use in the 1971 movie "Duel." Production of the 281 and 351 continued until 1976 and many still remain in use in the 2020s. This Peterbilt 281model features a detailed injection-molded plastic body with fine decoration, interior seats and window glazing and chrome-plated parts as appropriate.
