Description: Originally published in 1791, Boswell's book has been republished numerous times. This edition has an introduction by the editor, Mowbray Morris. Although undated, the book seems to be from the turn of the 20th century. Brown hardcover is in wonderful condition. Outside has little wear, mostly at spine edges and corners. Quite clean, and the gilt frame is still vibrant. The letters on the side are good with some fading. The interior has typical aging, but is very nice. Some dirt and yellowing on interior covers and 1st few pages that also have a few spots. The portrait is good with original tissue, and there is also a loose tissue. The remaining pages have aging, but are in great shape, as are the illustrations. There are no apparent rips or marks. The gilt on the outside of the top pages is fine. A beautifuly preserved volume that has survived over a century!
