I had a large garden and the kids loved French fries. If you want fat French fries use #1 with the slicer. For skinny French fries put #1 and #2 together in the slicer. (Picture 5) I used #4 mostly for slicing thin or thicker cucumbers. (Picture 6) I did slice beets. Never tried onions.
