As the subtitle suggests, the book was first published in the UK as a paperback, and examines dozens of major cases -- looking, presumably, for an answer to the "nature vs. nurture" question. The book was not perfectly nurtured in previous homes; there's a sticker/stain ghost on the front cover, and the back cover is firmly adhered to the back board for reasons/with substances unknown. (Because it got stuck about a quarter inch up the book, the bottoms of the boards have some rubbing damage.) But the jacket's in decent shape otherwise, and the book itself is square, the pages tight and clean (if somewhat toned).
