Description: BON SCOTT OF AC/DC Coming to you straight from Kirriemuir - The Wee Red Toon - in the North East of Scotland where Bon Scott, legendary AC/DC frontman, spent his early years! Born at the local maternity hospital (in nearby Forfar) wee Ronald lived in Kirriemuir - or Kirrie as it’s known to locals - until the family emigrated to Australia where he would go on to meet brothers Angus & Malcolm Young and form arguably one of the best and most influential rock bands of all time. Here in his childhood hometown, we have a life size bronze statue of the man himself, a memorial plaque on Kirrie’s walk of fame and even a street named after him! We also play host to the annual Bonfest music festival held in April/May when rockers from all corners of the globe descend on our sleepy wee town and double our population for a long weekend of rock and roll! Since 2017, I have owned and run Pixie Dust, a gift shop whose name comes from our other famous son, Sir JM Barrie, writer of Peter Pan.
