Description: For sale is a rare to find antique hand forged blacksmith made 18th century fireplace/hearth utensil/game hanging rack with the “tree of life” central motif. 5 hooks are hand hammered and attached by blacksmith welding. All components are original and with no repair found. Good condition! It is a larger example. It measures 21” wide, 13” tall. All connections and links are hand hammered and remains secure. The item has some surface rust but structurally stable, should clean up well if one desires. Age appropriate surface wears and imperfections are to be expected. Please study the pictures carefully before committing to buy. Overall, this is a classical example that showcases the 1700s colonial American blacksmith craftsmanship. A great display item for collectors of early wrought iron antiquity /early Americana /primitive fireplace and hearth tool. It is easy to hang and you can certainly use it to hang your other antique treasures for an authentic primitive hearth display.
