Description: BEAUTIFUL BEEMAN AR2078 THUMBHOLE STOCK CO2 PELLET RIFLE .177 CAL with EXTRAS – in like-new cosmetic and operating condition. Includes original owner’s manual, original box, degassing tool, hex wrenches, rear field sight, rear diopter sight, and a data CD with reviews, pics and other useful information for this rifle (how’s that for service/!). I will also toss in a nice Allen soft case ($20 value). This rifle is based on the immensely popular and ubiquitous QB78 platform but the AR models have choked barrels that make them generally more accurate that the regular QB78 variants. This AR2078 has the long-discontinued beautiful ergonomic ambidextrous thumbhole beech stock, unlike the current AR2078 A/B models with the biathalon-style stock. I purchased this new from Pyramyd in October of 2020. This rifle has has been used very lightly as it’s basically just been “exercised” several times a year to keep it functional. Parts for the QB78 platform are somewhat generic and readily available from different sources, as is information on the web forums for the many QB78-platform lovers. This rifle uses two 12gm CO2 cartridges (but can use one [plus a spent cartridge) for shorter shooting sessions and will get between 60-80 good shots depending on the ambient shooting condition temperature like all CO2 airguns. The trigger is supposedly adjustable but IMHO this 14oz-pull trigger is very smooth to begin with and does not need adjustment (nor have I tried it). It comes with 10m diopter rear sights that are “okay” and a rear field sight as well. However, consider scoping this rifle or using a red dot sight on the 11mm rails. The front sight is a globe sight that accepts inserts (only one is included). Very smooth bolt action and has a manual safety. It also has a degassing tool which I have never had need to use but I believe you must pull the bolt to the rear, insert the degassing tool, turn the tool in the appropriate direction, and it will engage and release the CO2 within the tube. The tool will not work with the bolt closed. Like with other QB78-platform models, some people have attached an adapter for the endcap and used a connector to a CO2 tank/bottle for endless shooting. This also has an adjustable butt end-plate (please see pics). This rifle is best with 7.9gr wadcutters for 10m shooting or domed pellets possibly can be used as well with good results if shooting other than 10m. NO LEAKS and holds CO2 for at least 2-days as per testing before selling. It’s normally not recommended to store CO2 cartridge pistols/rifles with engaged cylinders for more than a short time as it may cause face seal damage. Always use 2-3 drops of Pellgun Oil (or ATF will work) onto the face seal or tip of the CO2 cartridge to keep the seals fresh as the oil disperses through the CO2 gun - you CANNOT over-oil a CO2 gun! The other QB78 platform models are still in production and has readily available parts and accessories from various vendors so they are relatively easy to maintain and repair if/when needed.
