Titled "Winter Sunset" this landscape shows a river cutting through snowy fields with barren trees in the foreground all under a pink and purple sky. Signed in the low left corner "W Lieberman" this painting is signed again verso with its title and original price of $200. The total time to paint this work is also given verso indicating a total of 35 hours spent. Executed in oil on canvas measuring 24 x 32 inches the wonderful original wood frame measures 30.5 x 38.5 inches making this sizable painting more than impactful when on the wall. The condition of this early to mid 20th century oil painting shows a nice even craquelure, planar distortion top right and minimal paint loss. Frame may show light wear. Works by Lieberman are extraordinary rare with the only other example I can find being in the collection of The Brooklyn College Library.
