Description: Beautiful Iron Mistress & Iron Master Bowie Knife Set, ready to display in custom made and fitted African Sapele wood Case. Laser engraved stagecoach scene on top of case. These knives are completely hand made by Usama Tehseen from Wazirabad Pakistan, a highly skilled maker who strives to make the best knife possible every time....this iron mistress Bowie knife is made out of 3/8 D2 Steel it has beautiful grind lines with a 3/8 in thick median ridge running down the length of the 10 and a half inch long blade. Before the heat treating process begins, the spine of the knife is tapped for brass screw in pegs that anchor the solid brass perian strip in four places, it is then heat treated to 60 RC and after that process, the brass back is epoxied and pinned on to the spine of the blade which provides a solid and strong mount , the guard, fancy collar, butt cap and nameplate are all solid brass, the handle material is black Micarta with a swell Center to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand. The hidden tang is huge and runs completely through the handle, it's threaded and secured with epoxy and a custom-made 3/4 in Long solid brass nut that is screwed down tight for a rock solid handle that's never coming off, the dimensions of this blade and grind lines are patterned after the actual knife in the 1952 movie 'The Iron mistress" and the hardcover book "Recreating The Iron Mistress" which uses the original movie knife as the guide to building a exact proportionally correct blade reproduction. The Iron Master dagger or short sword is inspired by the work of John Nelson Cooper, built with 3/8 D2 Steel and hardened to 60 RC as well, it is painstakingly ground to the best symmetry possible totally by hand, the guard, fancy collar, butt cap and name plate are solid brass and the handle material is black Micarta, this also has a huge hidden Tang and it's built with the same care as the Mistress, the fit and satin finish on both these knives is excellent.... they weigh in at about 2 and 1/2 pounds each and measure 16.5 inches overall length... the case is a work of art and expertly handcrafted in New York state with beautiful solid African Sapele wood which is laser engraved with a Stagecoach scene. The interior of the case is form fitted for both these knives, and they rest on real velvet liners, when latched shut this case holds both knives securely in place.
