Description: Presented is a great quality sterling silver serving dish by Wood & Hughes. This piece dates to around the 1870s. The dish is done very much in the style of the Aesthetic Movement time period to which it dates. The piece is done in the form of two scalloped dishes joined in the middle. On either side are leaf form decorations, done in a wonderful realistic style, complete with texturing and veining. The undersides of the dishes have a matte finish. Use this piece for serving little cakes, candy, for holding cards, or for anything else you like. This piece is in good overall condition. There is a small split between the two halves of the dish, but the dish is still stable and sound. There are no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The underside of the piece is marked for Wood & Hughes as well as sterling, on both sides. The dish is about 11 1/8 inches long and stands about 5 5/8 inches tall at the highest point of the handle. This piece weighs 214 grams or 7.6 regular ounces. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
