Why I'm selling such a great gadget: I recently set up an exhaust fan in my attic but it had no built in temperature control. I bought a control unit much like this one and it did what I expected it to do: Displayed the current temperature and, when asked, what preset temperature I'd used as to when the fan would either start or stop. A month later at an estate sale I got some assorted items, including the item being sold here. This one here for sale has two separate programmable outlets. One to turn on a fan or cooling device; the other to power up a heating device. So this is a more versatile unit than the one I'd bought at retail earlier in the year, but I didn't need the extra capabilities it features, I only ever needed just one device of this general type, and that's why I'm selling this one here now. CONDITION: This item is new in the original box. It came without any "seals", such as tape discs. It only made use of tuck-in flaps to keep the box closed, so the fact that I've opened the box to check its contents (it's complete with detachable remote probe, and instructions) and take the listing photos shown here doesn't make it "used". Further, if you look at the neat way the power cord is tied using a twister tie, and look as well at the remote probe with its own neatly "tied" twister tie, it's clear that no part of this unit has ever actually been put in service. This came from the "stock shelves" of someone who was an "experimenter" in processing recyclable plastics and in doing various things such as distilling "stuff", buying supplements in bulk and packing his own capsules, etc. I bought this as part of an estate sale (bought the contents of two shelving units).
