He is active in illustrations for boys magazines and box art for plastic models. He is also passionate about historical restoration paintings, and has written books such as "Japanese Military Uniforms". Masami Onishi (1945-) Born in Shizuoka Prefecture. She studied under Shigeru Komatsuzaki. Through her introduction, she joined Tamiya Mokei (currently Tamiya) and worked on many of the companys box arts. She is currently working as a freelancer. Tatsuji Kajita (1936-2011) Born in Aichi Prefecture. He met the work of Shigeru Komatsuzaki and decided to become an illustrator. In addition to illustrations for boys magazines, he draws plastic model boxes, confectionery boxes, and stationery covers. Shin Ueda (1949-) Born in Aomori Prefecture. He spent five years as an apprentice under Shigeru Komatsuzaki. From plastic model box art to illustration and manga writing, he has a wide range of work. Tetsunori Kasano (1949-) Born in Kumamoto Prefecture. He studied under Shigeru Komatsuzaki. He joined the development section of the Japanese model and was instructed by Tsunehide Mori. Currently working as a technical illustrator. Yukio Mizuno (1947-) Born in Nagano Prefecture. An illustrator who specializes in painting restored ships. In 1999 (Heisei 11), he participated in TV Asahis battleship Yamato reconnaissance program "Yamato Project 99".
