Description: Here we have a Bachmann Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends 76040 HO/OO Red Sodor Mail Car with the words SODOR MAIL on the side. These Mail Coaches are used to transport letters and packages/parcels on the Island of Sodor. Originating in the episode “Thomas, Percy and the Post Train/Thomas, Percy and the Mail Train,” these cars were used primarily to transport the mail at night, in 2 separate trains by Thomas and Percy. Pulling the Mail Train has since become one of Percy’s favorite jobs. This hard-to-find version of the Bachmann Thomas Mail Car is the original version of the item with the words SODOR MAIL written on the sides, that was only available from 2008-2011. The version with the letters is based off of their appearance in the original Thomas Model Series, and has been discontinued for over a decade. In 2011, The Mail Coaches were redesigned with their CGI Thomas design, with an Envelope with Wings, and have remained that way since. Most fans, myself included, prefer the version with the letters on them, like in the Classic Thomas episodes. This is a great chance to get a rare and popular version of this item! The item is in Very Good Used Condition, with all buffers and couplings intact!
