This piece is Orange Ribbed Glass with Stars. This piece holds 3.75 FL. OZ. of Bird of Paradise Cologne. This piece is vintage. For many women, McConnell would radically alter that scenario. The man behind the company of women was the son of an Irish immigrant & grew up on a farm. Yet, it was this young man who was a visionary leader decades ahead of his time, who became a pioneer in empowering women. McConnell, a bookseller by trade, would offer women the opportunity to create & manage their own businesses through what later became known as "Direct Selling" or "Door to Door" selling. McConnell made two important discoveries in his travels as a book salesman. First, he quickly noticed that his female customers were far more interested in the free perfume samples he offered than they were in the books he was trying to sell. Second, he saw how women were struggling to make ends meet & recognized that many of them would make natural salespeople, who would relate easily to other women & would passionately sell the products his new company would first sell - perfumes! McConnell opened up his first company called "The California Perfume Company" Years later - AVON was born!
