Description: I have had this rug in my possession since the 1950’s when my grandparents gave it to me. It is possible it is older than the 50’s, I will leave that up to those who are educated in dating Navajo rugs. I used it on rare occasions as a saddle pad as a child in parades, therefore it needs to be cleaned. It also needs repair around the center of the rug, it is an “L” shaped tear with weak areas in the weave around that. I believe this rug is worth more than my asking price, if I am wrong please let me know. If one does not want to pay for a repair (fyi) the tear is in the center, an option could be two very nice vintage navajo pillow covers. It measures 51.26” long and 34” wide. There is only one small 4” area where the selvage cord is undone which is seen in one of the photos at the center top. I’ve included photos of the four corners to show the integrity of the stitches. This is wool and weighs 3 lbs. 5 oz, no bleeding. I will mail this to you rolled up in a 36” tube. If anyone knows anything about this rug please let me know. Even if you are not interested in buying it if you can help me out I would appreciate it. I am adding two photos of my grandparents taken on the trip when they purchased my rug however I do not know if this is the tribe they purchased the rug from or not.
