Description: The items in this collection include points with more than usual notches (double or triple typically), unexpected shapes, high break risk, or other attributes that cause them not to be offered often. Anthropologists speculate that natives would add extra notches either as an experiment for better hafting, or simply to practice a new technique. Some unusual point shapes are the result of breakage, some broken awls resemble a broadhead point. Some odd shapes were intended as effigies. Stone is brittle, and the longer and more slender a point, the more likely it is to break.Six “bird points”. Small points such as this were mistakenly referred to as bird points, when in fact they were standard general-purpose arrowheads. The sizes range from 0.73 to 1.57 inches. The materials include two opalized wood, two agate, one flint and one milk glass. Rst-15I make all of the points I sell. I prefer to use material that I collect myself, but I will buy stone or obsidian from time to time. These are intended as works of art, not as historical artifacts. If you like this point, please visit my store and see what else I have to offer.
