Description: Atlas General Vidal - Lablache History & Geography Pub: Librairie Armand Colin. 1923. 131 pages containing 420 maps. 46,000 place name index Size: 28 x 37 cm THIS ATLAS IS IN FRENCH. Despite the fact that the contents are detached from the boards this is rather a good Atlas. All the Maps and index are present in two sections. The Maps are clean (light edge tan) and from my perspective present quite and interesting European viewpoint. Covering both history and geography there are naturally maps that would not be seen in an English Atlas. Historical France through the ages, Wars of Napoleon, Carlovingian Europe, Historical Paris, 1850s and 1870s Italy, 1800s Europe. I could go, but you get the idea. It would help of course if I spoke French, sadly I do not. The maps are a mix of double spread and single page with many small inset features. Pages are double sided. Interesting from a European perspective as stated or perhaps just suitable for breaking and framing. Good colouration of the maps and the geological examples are particularly impressive. Thanks for reading, questions welcome. Please examine the photos which form part of the listing.
