Description: ATLAS 7B METAL SHAPER FEED RATCHET GEAR COVER CASE S7-23D 3D Printed This item is a reproduction part for the old Atlas 7B shapers that was commonly made of pot metal and broke easily over the years. This part was modeled closely to match the original part and strengthened in places that were required to make the part stronger for 3D printing process. The part is printed in a tough PETG plastic that is stronger than the typical 3D printed material. This material is also not affected by oils and lubricants and has a higher thermal temperature than cheaper materials. This part looks good and fits very well with all original parts. The little spring and ball bearing to lock the lever is modeled into the part as well as the little oil hole on the top to spray some lube from time to time. The ear that hangs off the side has been thickened to make it last longer while still using the original bolt. This part is not as strong as one milled out of aluminum or cast iron but it's plenty strong to last quite a while and it CO$T$ a whole lot less for the same part. Pick up a spare to have on hand in case your machine goes down or replace a loose worn out part for cheap. Part will be grey in color. Photos showing early prototype in white. The connecting hole is tapped for a good fit and the center more is reamed for nice fit. note: this item is ONLY for the grey plastic part that is shown and does NOT include any hardware/bolts/screws/gears/levers etc.
