Description: Levi Woodbury [1789 1851] was a United States statesman who was appointed as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court by President James Polk and served from 1845 until his death in 1851. Woodbury previously served as the 13th United States Secretary of the Treasury [1834 1841], the 9th United States Secretary of the Navy [1831 1834], and as the 9th Governor of New Hampshire [1823 1824]. Listed for auction is the autograph of Associate Justice Levi Woodbury signed on page. The page was most likely removed from a letter or document and the autograph is signed ''Levi Woodbury'' in black ink above his title as Secretary of the Treasury. The page measures 4.25 x 2.25 inches, it has trivial glue remnants on the verso which are visible at the top of the page otherwise it is in fine condition. The autograph is affixed to a presentation album page which measures 6.00 x 9.50 inches. The autograph is authentic, uncommon and is a desirable example of this noted statesman and is ideal for display.
