Description: ART NOUVEAU EICHWALD MAJOLICA MAROON COMPOTE PEDESTAL BOWL 4542. Eichwald Czech Majolica Nouveau Deco Art Pottery I just purchased this vintage B Bloch & Co / Eichwald Porcelain and Stove Facory Bloch & Co. footed compote. The compote is typical of the Art Nouveau inspired designs produced at the Dubi / Eichwald factory in Bohemia / Czechoslovakia during the late teens and early 1920's. The relief decoration is beautifully executed with crisp mold and fine detail seen throughout. The tin glazed / majolica finish is also well done in shades of maroon and tan, showing rich color and excellent coverage. The base bears the impressed "Eichwald" mark and production number "4542". This elegant Eichwald compote would make a nice addition to any collection of Deco Czech art pottery or Continental Majolica / faience art pottery. Does have a few flecks of paint missing in the flowers but they are very small and hardly noticeable. No other chips or cracks. Please review all photos before purchasing as they are part of the item’s description.
