Description: PALM STONE - APATITE This beautiful large, thick APATITE PALM STONE gallet is from Madagascar. The Apatite deposits from which this beautiful stone was produced are not extensive nor is this material available in large quantities. The natural material has a green to green blue color, whilst the polished material is heat treated to produce the rich intensive gemmy color. The rich blue heat-treated material is what people have come to expect from polished Blue Apatite. Most resellers are themselves not even aware that this range of product is professionally treated during the polishing process. The more recent material has a greater occurrence and intensity of an internal cracked like pattern else with vein-like features which have a hematoid like colouration. Irrespective of this material being heat treated it is the only material which even hits the commercial market out of the region. The stone fits comfortably and substantially in the hand.
